September 26th : European Day of Languages
On 26th September we celebrate the European Day of Languages, established by the Council of Europe to promote language learning. First, click here to find more information about this day. Then, read this statement and say if you agree with it: "Learning other people's languages is a way of helping us to understand each other better and overcome our cultural differences". ResponderEliminarI totally agree that we need to learn other languages to communicate and either eliminate cultural differences, or just to enrich yourself as a person. It helps us better understand the people and so better able to socialize with them.

EliminarI think that learn other languages helps us to grow culturally, but for communicate with others not is necessary know many languages, because if we are agree to learn one, and no more, one language together, we can socialize ourselves more. And if we can communicate with others, they can explain us the characters of their culture.

Elena, I don't understand well what you mean when you say that we should agree to speak one language. Do you mean that everybody should speak English or Esperanto?
EliminarRemember that in English we use the -ing ending when we translate Spanish infinitives, so you should say "I think that learning...".Great!
I agree with this statement. If we learn others languages we will can speak with persons of different countries and we will can travel to these countries.

Maria Pilar, you learn "other languages". You can't use two modal verbs together - as in "we will can speak".You have to use the form "be able to": "We will be able to speak".To say "de esta manera" you must say "This way". Good idea but you must revise your grammar!
EliminarI am agree with the Council of Europe's idea, because I think that learning other people's languages could be favorable if you have to travel to another countries of the European's Union in search of work, also it could be important if you have to say something at the Spain's travellers.

EliminarI think is a good form to communicate with people is speaking other language and learn other language different to spanish. Also is a good form of meet people of other countrys and meet others cultures. In the future can thank this, we know other important language.

Remember that in English you always need a subject: "It is a good...". The plural form of "country" is "countries". "Meet" and "know" are different. I can't understand the last sentence. EliminarI'm not agree with that because that we can speak other languages don't imply we will can talk with foreign people. So, we will can not share cultural traditions but this day is to me important because it's well know different languages.

You can't use "will" and "can " together and we write "cannot"."This day is important to me" and "it's good to know different languages". Interesting point of view but revise grammar.

EliminarI completely agree with the statement.Actually, the undertanding among people from different countries is a good reason for learning English, French or German. Nevertheless, to overcome our cultural differences is the most importan one, because if we made it true, we could put an end to the racism. In short, the communication among humans would make a better world.

EliminarFrom my point of view, I think English is necessary in these days because it is spoken by almost everybody. thus, if travel to a foreign country, you will be able to communicate with foreign people.

EliminarI am agree with this idea. There are a lot of ways to know other cultures like live in that country, read a books and also you can meet people from other country. In my opinion this form is the best because you can meet people, practice other lenguage and the main you can know their cultures and make good friends.

Nacho, you explained what you think well, I can understand it clearly, but you have to pay attention to grammar. "I agree with";"there are lots of ways"; "like + -ing: like living/reading...";"other countries"... Anyway, I agree with your comment.

EliminarWell I think that the people must learn about other cultures including other languages. But I disagree with the sentence "overcome our differences" because a culture is more than a lenguage, a culture is done by more things like traditions.

I think that animals aren't humans because animals don't use reason. they are animals for a good compañy. we can consider them friends. it isn't morally acceptable for scientists to use live animals in research because they feel pain. Animals aren't objects. it isn't correct to keep a dog tied to a post all day, in fact people with a dog usually have their pets at home in freedom.
